LAKEWOOD, N.J. (June 10, 2009) – As Singapore moves closer to opening its marketplace to casino gaming, Gaming Laboratories International has been officially recognized as a testing laboratory by the Casino Regulatory Authority (CRA) of Singapore, the regulatory authority responsible for supervising and regulating the casino gaming industry in Singapore.
The CRA designates qualified testing laboratories with the status of SRTL (Singapore Recognized Test Lab) to provide testing services for gaming equipment deployed at casinos within Singapore’s jurisdiction. As an SRTL, GLI will test games, systems and progressives against standards established by the CRA, and GLI will test games and systems for interoperability.
GLI Sr. Director of Global Engineering and Client Services Ian Hughes said, “We are honored to achieve the status of an SRTL. We are glad to have participated in the CRA’s closed consultations with the gaming industry for the Singapore Technical Standards on slots and systems. GLI wishes to thank Mr. T. Raja Kumar, Chief Executive of the CRA, and his team for their professionalism throughout GLI’s approval process.”
To be recognized, GLI had to prove, among other items, its accreditation with ISO17025, its internal compliance processes and its experience in testing gaming equipment for major gaming jurisdictions.
For more than 20 years, Gaming Laboratories International has been the world leader in independent testing for the gaming industry. With 13 testing laboratories spread across Africa, Asia, Australia, Austria, Europe, South America and the United States, GLI is the only laboratory of its kind to hold both U.S. and International accreditations for compliance with ISO 17025 and 17020 standards for technical competence in testing and inspection services.
